Well, 2017 really is finishing with a bang! On Tuesday, we took delivery of our three shiny new awards from the Marcom Awards 2017.
We entered five projects that we are really proud of, winning three awards and two honourable mentions. What could be a better Christmas present?
Our platinum award was for our most fabulous and addictive 2016 Christmas game.
This campaign which saw us reach out to our clients with postcard teasers, then an html email letting them know the game was launching and providing a link to access the game. Built into the game was a global leader board with 3 tiers of prizes, based around top scores for users playing the game. Integrated into the game was a social media sharing function, enabling users to post their scores to Twitter and Facebook. Three prizes were available, one to the general public, one to clients (through tracking email submission) and a final one for shared social scores.
The whole fun aspect of the game, building the presents and competing against colleagues created a lot of traffic on our social media circles with a lot of good-will generated. We also built a tracking solution for the game which was able to track user engagement through gaming sessions and record the duration of each game.
We also received two (yes two!) gold awards for our own brand refresh and our design work for our friends over at Mummy’s Gin Fund (MGF).
As a brand and communications agency it is so important to keep our own image current and fresh. With massive growth over the last seven years, we needed a new image to reflect who we are now. This was a team effort with all NU Creative team members involved in developing brand strategy, the new logo and a complete new look and feel as well as a funky new website that represented the very heart of who we are and how we work. The new brand was also rolled out to our sister agency NU Creative Talent to create a cohesive message. We are so proud of our new identity, we wanted to share it with Marcom, who whole heartedly agreed.
MGF is a social enterprise business that helps local parents to buy and sell baby gear and share advice and information about all things child related. We were privileged to be asked to develop a brand for this fantastic business, and once the website and brand became a household name, we introduced a quarterly magazine to their communication materials. This was developed to promote a “shop local” theme and local culture, something that MGF fiercely support.
The result was a quirky and friendly magazine with a wealth of information for local parents, both with advice and opportunities for members to buy from local businesses and shops, helping to support the local community.
And if it couldn’t get any better, we received honourable mentions for our continued work with CHaL (our chosen charity) and the new NU Creative Talent website.
We are in the process of rebranding CHaL to help them to reach out to corporate companies for sponsorship. So far, we have completed the logo and are in the process of developing the full brand, which will be complete in 2018. Watch this space!
Our sister agency, NU Creative Talent (the best creative recruitment agency around!) needed a new site with up to date technology. This resulted in a modern approach to creative recruitment and uses the best ways to reach the highest calibre candidates and innovative clients.
It’s fair to say that NU Creative has had a very good year, and we are extremely proud of the awards we have received in 2017. Not least this is a real testament to the team we have working with us. We really do have the best creative team! It is because of the collaborative way we work, and each team members passion, drive and creativity, that we are a multi award-winning agency. We value every team member and are very proud of who we are.
I would like to sign off by wishing all of our clients, team members and friends a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
